Bottom welt:

Using yarn (a), cast on 71 sts.

Row One: (K1, P1) to end

Row Two: Join in yarn (b) and work with both yarns plied together. (K1, P1) to end

Row Three: Break off yarn (b) and join in yarn (c) and work with both yarns plied together. (K1, P1) to end

Row Four: Break off yarn (c) and join in yarn (d) and work with both yarns plied together. (K1, P1) to end

Making up

Sew pieces together

Yoke:

Round One: Using yarn (b) tr. into every st. around neck.

Round Two: Using yarn (c) dc. into every st.

Round Three: Using yarn (d) dc. into every st.

Round Four: Using yarn (e) tr. into every alt st.

Round Five: Using yarn (f) dc. into every st.

Round Six: Using yarn (g) dc. into every st.

Using crochet hook and yarn (a) pick up all the sts. round one side of the neck and put on knitting needle.

Row One: (K1, P1) to end

Row Two: Join in yarn (b) and work with both yarns plied together. (K1, P1) to end

Row Three: Break off yarn (b) and join in yarn (c) and work with both yarns plied together. (K1, P1) to end

Row Four: Break off yarn (c) and join in yarn (d) and work with both yarns plied together. (K1, P1) to end

Row Five: Break off yarn (d) and work with just yarn (a): (K1, P1) to end

Cast off.

Do the same for the other side. Sew the edges of the two halves together.

Try jumper on, and decide where to lace the ribbon through. Pull through every other st. on a wrapped round twice row. Pull up and tie together, ensuring that it’s loose enough to be pulled off and on.
